The Lloyd Family has kindly given me permission to reprint this excellent publication by the late Brian Lloyd. Hard cover A4 size. This book about gold and people is a story of hard work, great rewards for some and dogged persistence by many. In 140 years, the mines from Jamieson to Woods Point produced 43 tonnes of gold, worth about $760 million in the values of 2002. The first 3 years on Morning Star Hill produced over $100,000,000 worth of gold in the dollars of 2002. Special features of the book are stories of the har­monious mix of families from many places. They showed great ability in organising their mines, local government and transport, courts, schools, and churches, mail, telegraph and supplies.
